President Biography

President, 2010-2011

Robert Lam is President at CCAT. As President, he oversees the organization’s leadership including Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and ensures that CCAT’s numerous committee chairperson positions and roles are filled.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA degree from Wayne Huizenga Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He has extensive IT management experience as a consultant helping organizations align their IT investment and business strategies and is interested in conducting research in the fields of competition, innovation and strategy.

Robert has worked as a senior systems architect with a multinational energy company and as a senior systems specialist with a national integrated petroleum company. He has also served as Team Lead for the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Body of Knowledge Review Team, Board Member of CCAT, Co-Chair of the ICT Health & Safety Committee at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and on the Canadian Information Processing (CIPS) Golf Tournament Committee.
In addition to his duties at CCAT, Robert currently serves as a member of the Springbank Development Advisory Committee and is a contributing author of Cloud Computing: Principles and Paradigms, a textbook to be published in 2010 as part of the Wiley & Sons (New York) Series on Parallel and Distributed Computing.
