"CCAT & Alberta ICT Team Up"News Release CCAT & Alberta ICT Form Alliance (Feb. 29, 2012 - Calgary) - The Calgary Council for Advanced Technology (CCAT) is joining forces with the Alberta ICT Industry Association (Alberta ICT) to collaborate and co-brand technology events in Calgary. Under the new agreement, Alberta ICT will help promote, organize and manage CCAT networking events held in Calgary each year, including eight breakfast and two dinner events from September to June. "We are pleased to able to partner with CCAT on these important technology-focused networking events in Calgary. For more than 25 years, CCAT has run these events successfully and we look forward to helping continue that success,” noted Drew McNaughton, President of Alberta ICT. The ICT industry in Alberta is a dynamic and growing mix of 5,500 companies employing more than 100,000 people. The sectors companies service consumer, industrial and government customers in provincial, national and international markets. Product areas include hardware, software, services and are applied to industrial/process control, health care, personal/entertainment and enterprise operations. Alberta ICT operates within a rich heritage of technical education and research and advanced connectivity addressing the demanding needs of the resource based industry in the province. It represents and attracts highly skilled and entrepreneurial people who are developing leading products on a global stage.
